Final Reflection

As a whole, blogging is very useful in the sense that we update and reflect on what we have learnt for the week. In blog, we are able to express our thought and share ideas and experiences with peers and at the same time learn many new things. Thus, I am able to now think critically on the issues discussed in the class, develop the technological skills from many sources and improve my language indirectly. The course is reach with technological assets where we are able to acquire video, photo, audio, e-book and so forth. At first, I felt, there are too much of assignments in this course and I indeed struggled hard but when reflecting them now, I am actually pleased because at this point, I am considered to be a good technology user since I have knew a lot of items in it. It helped me a lot and going to do the same thing in future. I did not expect that I will be ale to know and use those technologies in my life. Apart from that, in the course, the exposure on the non-technology materials was very little. If we were asked to create materials like puppets, masks, pictures and so on. This will provide more fun as we are involved in the making of the materials. It would be better if a balance is created between these two technology and non-technology materials. To put into a nutshell, my resource world is now flying with many colours as I have learnt and grabbed most of the technological assets.

Last but not least................EXAM

We have come to an end to this course and it ended with the examination. The whole week before this was spent for the revision purpose. I prepared indeed quite well although there were not much clues given to study.I was confused when each people tells a different material to study and look for. Anyhow, I was able to overcome that matter.The two hour exam was quite a difficult one for me but I have tried my level best and applied what i have learned.The given time was just nice to complte all the 4 questions. It will be great if the time is extended a few minutes to give us time for self-correction.But, anyhow, it was fine. To reflect on the entire course...This course has a plenty of resources which are applicable for the ESL classroom. But, it is in the teacher's hand to use, modify, improvise or adapt as to suit the pupils' level of proficiency. I always believe in it!We have come to the end.Thanks alot for the lecture and my friends who have made my life easier in this course-on the assignments. Tq N tc!

Completion of assignent 3

Thank god assignment 3 has come to an end. I spent my entire raya holiday on this and completed my work without facing any difficulties and problems. I realised that, the process of creating lesson plans requires alot of time and thinking. Add to the point, if we have the interest in it, definitely it will be a success.I would say that i enjoyed the lesson plan making session. It was fun! Moreover, the topic given to me is 'story time again'. So, i worked hard to create new imaginary stories which requires pupils' intelect as well as to boost the pupils CCTS( critical and creative thinking skills).It is a way to educate pupils in a comfortable and non-threthening environment. Pupils will be relaxed and learn lesson effectively too. Apart from that, i also included many technology assets as it will grab pupils' attention and interest. E-books, videos, audios and animated pictures are introduced in my lesson. In addition, i also integrated the traditional methods such as puzzle solving, secret box games, authentic materials. These approaches are effective as well because they are more real and it remain in pupils' mind!So, in my opinion, i feel that a teacher should emphasis on both technology and traditional ways in their teaching and learning to create a balance.

Assignment 3- It's flood!

Assignmnet 3 is really very compact in the sense of workloads. We are supposed to create 4 lessons in different skills and we have to develop the lessons according to the topic given.I got Year 2 - Story Time Again. It actually sounds interesting and children love stories. So, i took this opportunity to create wonderful activities using stories. I explored stories well and attached games, puzzle solving, songs,animated pictures and digital cards as to make my lesson more effective in terms of the teaching aids as well as the entire lesson. It took about one week for me complete this assignment. Although at some points I got tired of the work but mostly it gives me excitement. I enjoyed it much!! Such assignment have provided me practice for my future lesson. I will never deny that i have gained plenty of ideas and methods on how to approach my pupils in future..Thanks to Ms Foziah!!

Assignment 2

Assignment 2 is a pair work and we are supposed to come out with two complete lesson plans for the primary classroom. My pair and I decided to divide our work as usual to make things easier. We have to use two video clips to use in our lesson. The first one is given by our lecture while the second one have to be found by us. So after much exploration in youtube, eventually I found a video entitled ' One two buckle my shoe'. It is a rhyme which contains numbers and the rhyming sentences for those numbers. I personally feel that it is very suitable to conduct reading lesson in the classroom. Since the video has two parts in it, it would be easy for teacher to divide the class into two and elect a group a role to read. Kids would love it because it is a new approach of reading. Add to the point, children will develop sense of competence by reading in group to perform their best. The entire process of attempting this assignment 2 wasd quite heavy for me because i got to prepare lesson plans and teaching materials and at the same time i had other course assingments to be done. But i took all that as a challenge and did my works by managing my time wisely. The next assignment is coming up and it sounds more challenging when the lecture gave us the description of it. Another big brigde to be crossed.

The Four Skills-Mine READING

We were required to be in groups of 4 and develop a lesson and activities for the chosen skill. As for me, i got reading skill. So, i decided to do e-book since it is very effective to deliver input in a more systematic and organised way. At the same time, pupils will enjoy and have fun with it since they are new to such materials. It is beyond the everyday classroom learning. Since the topic of my group is 'People', i planned to do about family because it is authentic and so much related to the pupils' real life. I explored deeply on a selected family where i introduced the family members and their interest. This can enable the pupils to connect the ideas to their own families. The journey into the process of completing my e-book and activities was just fine. I explored the pictures in yahoo image and add in animations of people to make the e-book lively. Not forgetting the fonts and background colour for the e-book.I feel that these elements play great role in a delivery of a lesson. I believe that students can be influenced by their emotions by looking at these elements. If a dull and dim colours are applied on the slides, for sure the pupils will be demotivated to even look at it.So, i tried my level best to make my e-book as colourful as possible by attaching animated pictures and wordings.

E-Book!

A new term is added into our resourse world. The "E-BOOK"! Actually, it sounds quite difficult and plenty of questions were cracking my head before i was actually exposed to it, but once we went through the lectures and some examples about it, it was not that BAD! I felt quite a kind of relief. Since, it was a pair work, i and my previous pair for video editing, Yana, joined again to make things much easier. Then, we took approximately one day for planning and discussion on what topic to be chosen. We came out with the topic "How do I go to school? ". It is very relevent to the primary pupils because it reflects on their real life. So, in my view, i believe that, pupils will pay more attention towards this topic. To add to the point, we tried our best to make our e-book the most colourful and attractive one by adding animations and audio music as to grab and remain their concentration towards the lesson.We somehow did it quite well...Since, the duration for this task felt on holidays, we divided the jobs equally and kept updating our work in e-mail and yahoo messenger. It helped us to keep track of our work.Then, after a while we got to know that we are to add story board and print out a copy of our e-book. With a rush, we were able to complete them as well. And at last, today we managed to compile the entire thing..

R.E.L.I.E.F

At last, we have done both of our video editing task. More excitement were faced by us rather than tension. Altough we were out on holidays, but we keep updating each other and divided our works well. For the pair, coincidently, i and Yana are from the same hometown. So, we met up in 'Kulim' public library and done our work happily. But at the same time, we chatted through yahoo messenger and kept upgrading the video. After all done,we had some hardshipsin uploading the video in youube. But, thank god it over with satisfaction.And, we got very good responses and comments from Pn Foziah and our friends. We feel its a success for us. Really happy for that.Next, what? Of course, looking forward how the next task going be.......

Hurry Up!

I would say for this week our task got more hyper in the sense of the work load.We were actually required to perform in 2 tasks involving video editing. One was a pair work and another one involves a group. It sound quite heavy and scare me at first. But, since i have the knowlegde on video editing in my technology course, it donated me alot of ideas and put my tense down. SO, as for now, we are preparing for the group task where we have to download a video about one of the 8TV programme and cut them and change it to a movie form. Since the due date is chasing us away, we got to do it by saturday. The pair work task has been discussed by myself and my collleague Yana. Actually, we had a few ideas crossing our minds, but after consoling with Mdm Foziah, we have decided on what exactly to be done. Our video is given the title " The Journey of Life". Now we are on the process of searching for colourful materials and pictures since it is one of the requirements. We will start working on our video soon. In my point of view, these tasks are very beneficial as it gives us practice and ideas on how to use video editing meaningfully.At the same time, it also ensure a quality work. To add to the point, we csn also use these concept in our classrooms with the kids in future. They would enjoy such things since they are still not well exposed to these things. So, hope we will do well on our tasks and gain more. Hope all of you will enjoy watching our video..

wonderful time on audio editing!

i will never deny that, i had a wonderful time throughout the process of audio editing. As the process goes, i learnt many functions of the software after exploring thoroughly on it. Now, i know how to edit, cut and paste an original song or a music into a different type of music. We can even change a sad sorrowful song to a hip hop song. It is possible with this software. I realised we can even mix a few preferable song and make it one song. Its simple super and i would say i always admire this elements and working more on it since my eagerness into it is always reaching the mountain..Now, im still on the process of creating my own audio music. its ver proud to say that, i am able to produce a music. My technlogy knowlegde is excelling too fast because of the exposure from this course! by the end, im sure il be more advanced in it ...with full of hopes...........

A New Item in My dictionary!

PHOTO EDITING is all about it. Yup, in this weeks class, we learned on how to develop a picture-editing, omiting, adding and even modifying.What you want more? It was really amazing for me when i went exploring it in depth. I explored soft wares such as adobe photoshop and magic photo editor! The tutorials of those soft wares gave great hand for me to acquire the skills in photo editing.And now, my job is to create and edit an original photo to a different perspective. IT is fun! But i must admit that i faced some problems in handling the soft ware. It seems to be difficult for me. Since im in the process of reading the tutorials,i am able to open up my curiousity door. Yet, it is not enough and unclear.Furthermore, I have some eye cathcing clips in my collection and some ideas are flying around me on what theme to be chosen. So, hopefully, those plans will be successful and i can manage to break the barriers in photo editing and excel in it.

OPENING THE DOORS OF RESOURCES

Our effort on the group assignment is progressing since all five of us have discussed well and decided on which topic and curriculum specification to be selected. We planned to choose the topic- Inventions. We are still on the process of finding for clips, pictures and soft wares to make our project a good one. We often update each other so that all of us will be safe and are on the right track. This is the benefit of group working. On my way in finding materials in net, I was astonished meeting and learning many new things in it. It seems to be an amazing race for me. I kept discovering new ideas whenever I explore an item. That was my reason for quoting ‘opening the doors of resources.’ Now my knowledge on technology and resources is improving. I am happy for that, but since there is no limit for gaining knowledge, I am seeking forward to learn and get to know more and more from this course. Thanks for Mdm Foziah for giving such precise lectures and explanation. Good luck everybody! Enjoy the project!

First step into resource world

The journey into the world of resource begins with a good start. As I know, the course is basically on how to create, explore and manipulate resources for the teaching and learning process through the usage of technology functions. Technology holds a big role here since everyone is aware of its beauty. I extremely feel that, technology will reduce the workload and stress of all profession. But let’s zoom into teachers. Previously in ancient time and even in the past 5 year’s time, there were very less facilities related to technology. Teachers may have to create their own material for their everyday lessons which contributed a lot of obstacles and it was time consuming. But in this era, there are millions and billions of teaching resources flooded in the internet. See how advance today’s world is. With a click of button, we will be filled with tremendous teaching and visual aids, clips and videos. So, this course definitely going to give me a lot of knowledge and ideas on how to approach my students in future. What I should do is just to select the resources according to students’ level of ability and work on it. But, I also have a confident that, these exploration will tend to boost my thinking and encourage me to come out with more creative and efficient ideas for the sake of my students. Obviously, I am going to gain many experiences throughout the stroll into technology. I am expecting a lot from you my ‘RESOURCE WORLD’. Hopefully things will go fine and I’ll learn more and more for the benefit of myself as well as my future students. So, let’s join this extreme journey with me, let’s all of us step into this wide world and break the mysteries and secrets in it.

Ingredients in RESOURCE 3102

The ingredients in resource 3102 are exceedingly very useful and meaningful for me as a future teacher, since the major element of teaching and learning is to attach relevant and appropriate resources. The first two classes were quite challenging for me as I don’t really understand the jargons of technology. Words like flickr, keepvid, pdf, utube and so forth. I wondered what they were. Since I’m a beginner, it should be fine. When time goes, of course I’ll be familiar with the procedures and root of this course. Basically, to my understanding, we will be learning on how to get through videos, pictures, movie making, saving files and editing which seems to be very new for me. This will help me to prepare and create my own aids and materials for students.
Seriously, before I attended this class, I don’t exactly know what BLOG is all about. But, I really got shocked when getting to know the functions and purposes of using blog. I feel that it is a tool for communication between teacher, classmates and even others. We can comment, give ideas and even provide suggestions for them in any field. It’s interesting rite? Every week we are to upload and revise our blog by sharing our knowledge and experience in the course. It is a way to express our intentions and expectations towards the course. This idea of creating blog enhances my knowledge since I have the opportunities to explore on videos, clips and other relevant materials to keep my blog updated. Through my walk into these findings, there are high possibilities for me to discover new items in technology. It will be valuable for me in my future upcoming. Hope I will explore more and be an expert of technology gadgets soon.
